Morning Train A collaboration with Chris Pappathan The birth of this image ... |
| (deanna) While this is on my mind, just wanted to tell you more, if you don't mind. I grew up in this small town (then), when you knew everyone you saw downtown. Lived about 6 blocks from downtown and the train tracks ran between us. I used to hear the passenger and freight trains during the night as they passed through town. Eerie, yet beautiful sound and has fascinated me since then. What I see for an image (only in my head) is a beautiful landscape like you do so well. Rather dark, because it's night, like in a valley, with mountains on both, or at least one side. I picture it as kind of looking down at it, maybe a river (yes, a river .. Snake River runs through the middle of town.) | ||
| (Chris) I've been to the place you see, in my mind at least. Through parts of Vermont and Pennsylvania you can see a town nestled down in a valley from miles away...the entire town is visible, but appearing the size of those little Hallmark Christmas decorations. (You know, those little houses and stuff with lights in them?) They just sparkle at night, and many have a train track that runs around the edge of town, next to a river of course, extending down into the valley. | ||
